Who we are
My name is Jose Gabriel Moreno, founder of Journey. I created this organization to honor my dad, Gabriel Moreno, who fought ALS with incredible strength and had a deep desire to turn his battle into something meaningful to help others. This journey was incredibly difficult for us and for everyone who loved him. That’s why we want to share the knowledge we’ve gained over the past two years—to support and guide others facing this disease.
My dad was an extraordinary father, son, husband, and friend. He had a gift for lighting up every room with his jokes and ensuring everyone around him was smiling. To honor his legacy, we present Journey—a source of hope, information, and support for ALS patients and their families.
Looking back, we wish we had more guidance and information at the beginning of our journey. Now, we want to share what we’ve learned to make the path easier for others, providing support and resources to help families navigate this challenging disease with more confidence and care.
We decided to recreate the famous Ice bucket Challenge that was created originally back in 2014 to bring awareness to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Disease) that, to this day, affects thousands of people around the world.
